About

A grade 2 listed chocolate box cottage dating back from 1672, Hawthorn cottage still holds many of its original features. With low beamed ceilings, Inglenook fireplace, original cranked tread staircase, our guests can enjoy a little bit of Cheshire history. Recently renovated, the thatched cottage has private access with an enclosed cottage garden and courtyard, underfloor heating, a fully fitted kitchen & bathroom with a cosy lounge and bedroom. The cottage is surrounded by open countryside and fields. A public footpath runs over our land with direct access to lots of country walks. There is dairy next door where you can buy fresh local produce.Walking to Holmes Chapel and Goostrey with a variety of pubs and shops takes approximately 25 minutes.

A Warm welcome

We love extra touches and we love shopping local. For your arrival we offer a complimentary welcome pack with bread, a bottle of fizz, local farm eggs and fresh milk and butter from the dairy next door to the cottage. All towels and bedding is provided with the added use of bathing robes and disposable slippers.

Outside Space

Relax in your own private hot tub in a beautiful enclosed garden area. There is a courtyard with an original well, surrounded with butterflies and bumble bees. Deck chairs, a gas BBQ and a table and chairs to dine alfresco are all provided.

The cottage is surrounded by open fields and countryside with some amazing walks literally on your doorstep! You can download our local walking guide below. Don't forget your walking boots!

Kitchen & Lounge

Full underfloor heating, a fully fitted country kitchen with induction hob, fan oven, microwave, Dolce Gusto coffee maker and Smeg fridge, toaster and kettle. Complete with iron and ironing board. The cosy lounge has a comfy sofa, realistic electric log burner, writing bureau, smart TV and Xbox.

Bedroom & Bathroom

A spacious fully fitted bathroom with freestanding bath and tap with shower attachment with views over fields. The cosy bedroom has a kingsize bed with an Emma mattress for a great nights sleep. There is also a smart TV, hairdryer, drawers and hanging space.

Thorough Clean

We follow an enhanced cleaning protocol developed by leading health and hospitality experts for the times of COVID-19 and beyond. For your arrival the cottage is fully cleaned and sanitised. Fresh bedding & towels are provided and the hot tub thoroughly cleaned and chemicals balanced for you to enjoy.

Location

Located 5 minutes drive from junction 18 off the M6 with easy access to Manchester, Chester, Macclesfield, Crewe & North Wales. Goostrey & Holmes Chapel rail stations are approx 25 mins walk where you catch a train to Alderley Edge or further on to Manchester.

Country Walks

A public footpath runs over our land and gives access to many countryside walks. Hawthorn Cottage offers a peaceful escape into the luscious green English countryside with the Goostrey Bongs, the Dane loop & Peover Eye a short walk away.

Bicycle Rides

Cranage & Goostrey is a popular area for cyclists due to the location and beautiful countryside. There are lots of cycle routes on our doorstep ranging from beginners to the more advanced.

Going Out

Just a 20 minute walk from Goostrey village where you will find a local shop and 2 welcoming pubs. Holmes Chapel is also a short walk approx (25 mins) where you will find more pubs, shops, and an delicious Italian restaurant. Knutsford town is approx a 10 minute drive away which has loads of restaurants, bars and pubs.
